After having cleaned more than a thousand properties, it became apparent that the epoxy solutions many of our clients have sought just weren’t cutting it.

THE INSTALLATION PROCESS

We install polyaspartic floor coatings that can be used in a variety of residential and commercial applications. Whether it’s a garage, basement, hospital, showroom, or factory, the application process follows a similar six-step process.

  • Step 1: Preparation – We’ll prep your area by diamond grinding the surface of your floor to ensure a scratch pattern that will allow for superior adhesion of the coating. During this process, dust is minimized through the use of specialized vacuums attached to each grinder.
  • Step 2: Concrete reconstruction – Next, our team of menders and fillers will fix any pits or cracks in the surface of the concrete before the application process begins.
  • Step 3: Basecoat – Once the surface of the existing flooring is fully prepped, we’ll mix and apply the self-priming, pure polyurea basecoat.
  • Step 4: Broadcasting the chip – Immediately following the application of the basecoat, the chip material is evenly broadcast by hand over the surface of the floor, providing both color and texture.
  • Step 5: Scraping the chip – After a curing period, the floor will be scraped and vacuumed to remove any loose or vertical-standing flakes.
  • Step 6: Clear coat – We’ll finish the job by rolling out the UV stable, polyaspartic clear coat over the top of the flakes to seal the coating in place.

PREPPING YOUR FLOORS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If you’re interested in understanding the details of our preparation services, we have the information you need. The objective of this process is to guarantee that the concrete is thoroughly prepared for coating. Throughout the preparation process, we undertake the following steps:

  • Grind concrete surface: We use a diamond-bit grinder to create a coarse and porous surface as well as to remove any weak or deteriorated concrete. Our grinders feature three grinding wheels that work in unison to open the pores of your concrete. We will also use hand grinders to prepare detailed areas and vertical surfaces.
  • Contain concrete dust: Each of the grinders is used with a high-powered vacuum to contain dust created by the grinding. This minimizes the amount of dust produced from the grinding process.
  • Remove contaminants: Concrete can absorb contaminants such as oil, grease, and gas when they are spilled on its surface. Grinding usually removes surface contaminants, but in instances where they have penetrated deep, we use a degreaser to lift oil from the concrete. Our coating has also been formulated with an oil base so even if the oil cannot be fully removed, the coating will still bond appropriately.
  • Remove latent layer: The main purpose of grinding the surface of your concrete is to remove the latent layer that formed when the slab was originally curing. This layer has minimal pores and is the weakest layer of the concrete, making it vital to remove before coating the slab. The latent layer is about 1/16th of an inch thick, so we’ll grind to that depth in order to remove it fully.
